"X-Men: First Class" debuts in theaters on June 3, 2011, so let the countdown begin. The "X-Men: First Class" trailer has gone viral, and the film promises to add a plethora of information to the already iconic X-Men saga. This feature film is another in the origin line of films, and features the stories of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. All X-Men fans know that Charles and Erik had once been best friends. They also know that the two friends formed a partnership, building Cerebro and starting a school for gifted students; however, there are many fans who have never read the comics or perused the Marvel Directory and read their back stories. Now fans can learn via "X-Men: First Class" how Xavier and Lehnsherr formed a partnership that eventually severed their relationship and created the X-Men, saviors of the world.

The cast of "X-Men: First Class" includes James McAvoy as Charles Xavier. McAvoy is an excellent choice to play a younger version of Charles. He is able to capture Charles' compassionate and empathetic nature which is evident in the newly released trailer. McAvoy also favors Patrick Stewart, the original Charles Xavier who starred in all three of the previous X-Men feature films. McAvoy is no stranger to sci-fi. In 2003, he played Duke Leto Atredies II in the "Children of Dune" television miniseries. He also played Mr. Tumnus in the "Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." Since Charles Xavier is truly the heart of the X-Men, it's really a great honor to be cast as Xavier. There is no doubt that McAvoy fits really well into the X-Men universe.

Erik Lehnsherr, a character equal to Charles Xavier in importance, is portrayed by Michael Fassbender. Fassbender is no stranger to comic books brought to life on the big screen either. In 2007, Fassbender played a notable supporting character in the film "300." It is evident in the "X-Men: First Class" trailer that he is an excellent Erik Lehnsherr. Fassbender portrays Magneto with such charisma that it is easy for fans to root for the bad guy,a trait his predecessor Ian McKellen first brought to the screen. McKellen's portrayal of Magneto left fans both awed and ashamed of their desire for evil to triumph good. Fassbender looks like he will turn out a fantastic performance of Erik in "X-Men: First Class."

Mystique is also introduced in this film of origins. It has always been evident that Mystique has a deep attraction to Magneto, but many have wondered how did these two meet, and what is their back story. Jennifer Lawerence takes on the role of Mystique in "X-Men: First Class." Mystique was originally played by the blonde beauty Rebecca Romijn. While it is uncertain what the exact role Mystique will play in the upcoming film, it is apparent that she will be an integral part of the show.

Hank McCoy,also known as Beast, and who was portrayed by Kelsey Grammer in the film "X-Men: The Last Stand," is also an important part of "X-Men: First Class." In "X-Men: The Last Stand" Beast mentions that he too had once donned an X-men uniform as the current X-men prepare to battle the Phoenix. Nicholas Hoult plays the young Hank McCoy, and Beast makes several appearances in the trailer for the upcoming film.

Other mutants are also shown on the trailer, and will be introduced to an already loyal fan base through the film. These include: Azazel, portrayed by Jason Flemyng; Havoc, played by Lucas Till; Banshee, portrayed by Caleb Landry Jones' Angel, played by Zoe Kravitz; Sebastian Shaw, played by Kevin Bacon; Emma Frost, portrayed by January Jones; and Darwin, played by Edi Gathegi. Dr. Moira MacTaggart, who was briefly seen in "X-Men: The Last Stand," will also be introduced in "X-Men: First Class." Dr. MacTaggart is Charles Xavier's true love, and it will be really interesting to see their relationship come to life in the new film.

The trailer for the newest part of the X-Men universe really leaves fans wanting to see more, at least it does for this fan. One of the most intriguing scenes in the trailer occurs between Charles and Erik. Charles tells Erik, "Killing will not bring you Peace," and Erik answers, "Peace was never an option."
