X-men Gambit Halloween Costume

The Gambit costume has the ability to get very expensive. In my description of how you transform a regular person in to the X-MAN Gambit I will explain how to make it even pricier if you wanted to..

You're going to need a large black ski mask, a brown floor length trench coat(you can also use a brown straight length jacket and add opened up trash bags painted the same color for the extra length, a red shirt, optional muscle chest, black gloves, black pants, black workman boots, and a long slender steel pole the size of the wearer (this is the hardest item to come by, even though those exact kind of poles are all over. These poles can be found in home depot, and they run about $4 at the most. These poles are also running arou8nd construction sites.

Take the ski mask and pull it down onto the wearer. It should go down and cover his neck and the first part of his chest covering the Adam's apple divot where the chest begins. Cut out the frame of the entire face. The face should go as far back as when where his jaws come together. Cut out the ears, and pull them out. Cut out the very crown of the head and pull as much of the hair out as possible. If the wearer has short hair, a mop top might be necessary. Gambit has hair that comes up and out to a length just past his eyes. So when the hair comes out of the top of this device he wears, it flows down almost framing his face.

Prepare the trench coat. This is a battered war torn coat. If you have the ability, put some burs, tears, etc on this coat. If you are lengthening the coat with painted trash bags, rip the coat but down burn it. This will immediately show that it is plastic. Next, prepare the gloves. Gambits power comes from his touching things, so he has to have some fingers out of the gloves. On his right hand he has his middle finger and his ring finger covered. The rest of the fingers are completely exposed down to just before you get to the knuckle. The left hand glove is void of the same fingers, but the tops of the other two fingers have small holes in them.

Now it's time to get dressed. Put on the fake ripped chest, or if you are that ripped, make sure it's a very tight shirt. Put on the very tight red shirt. Put the ski mask on, pull out the hair, pull out the ears. Make sure that the ski mask comes down past the collar of the shirt. Put on the black pants, and large buckled belt. Put on the work boots. If when wearing the boots the socks can be seen, make sure they are black socks. Put on the trench coat and you are only missing one thing - the cards.

Gambit puts energy into cards, makes them glow, and then throws them. The glow is usually red or pink. If you could go buy red or pink cards that would be perfect. If you really wanted to technical, you could get the clear cards and have Gambit hold a red light in his hand that he could turn on and off, thereby making the card glow.

That is your completed Gambit costume.
