I'll start with the good things. First of all, it has equalizer settings to change bass and tone for rock, classical, etc. Second of all, it is compact, so you could wear it almost secretly at work or school and no one would be the wiser. Third of all, it operates as a perfectly functional watch. Also, it has a USB plug to drag and drop music from your computer, which to me makes it a sort of all in one package. Sadly though, that's just about where the good things end with this watch.
Now, for the overwhelming downfalls. Most annoyingly to me, you have absolutely no way of finding a song. So, if you have it filled up with all your favorite music, and you are in the mood for one specific song, you might not get to listen to it. You could keep skipping through songs to find it, but that might not work out. Also, you cannot rewind or fast-forward through a song. So, if you absolutely loved the end of that ten minute guitar solo, and you want to hear it again, you will have to start the entire song over.
Also, because the watch is so compact, it does not use a standard headphone jack. It uses a much smaller one. So, your iPod headphones, or those fifty cent headphones that you got from Dollar General... Yeah, those will not work. You'll have to go to a radio shack or order them online, but if you lose or break the headphones that come with it, then you are going to spend a while sans music.
I have said in this article that it is compact. What I mean by that, is that it is compact for an MP3 player. However, for a watch it is quite bulky and massive. It is definitely not the kind of watch that you can put on and not notice.
Should you buy this watch over a Zune or an iPod? My suggestion is if you are buying for someone over ten years old than you should save up your money and buy something that will keep the user entertained for more than a few months.
