Over the weekend my computer was attacked by the atrocious and wicked spyware called XP Antispyware 2010. Initially, the virus pops up on your pc screen as a bogus XP Antispyware 2010 antivirus program and encourages users to upgrade or purchase software by clicking on the registration key (a fake and non-working virus and spyware protection program), and then it sneaks into your computer by pretending to be an update of Windows. Although I have McAfee virus protection program, somehow the spyware made its way into my computer! I'm told it is not safe to deal with the makers of XP Antispyware 2010; you should consider removing it because it can slow down your computer and affect your internet surfing activities. It can also infect your programs and administrative rights. If you are computer savvy, fortunately, there are ways to uninstall XP antispyware 2010 or remove it free. Click on the link to access information and instructions: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=38629 . There are several other links available in Google on how to remove the virus. If you are not computer savvy, the process may seem challenging and confusing; therefore it might benefit you to consult a professional. Unfortunately, a friend recently came in contact with this hideous virus, and decided to take the computer to Best Buy which cost about $200 for repair.
XP Antispyware 2010 antivirus is an aggressive bug that is surfacing quickly. Please take it serious! In my recent experience, once the virus began attacking my computer, it immediately started shutting down and restarting internet programs, opening and closing different programs such as Word, Excel, etc, and it blocked me from navigating or clicking on different programs. It pretty much took control of my computer as if someone was navigating from the other end. I was somewhat confused and tried to remove the pop up by clicking on it several times, but unfortunately, this made it worse. I felt my privacy was being invaded by some alien force, and it was very creepy. If you suspect the virus, I'm told it best to shut down your computer immediately to avoid further damage until you can research and resolve the problem. My computer is now in hands of a dedicated and devoted computer technician.
