I'm good about putting these articles in my "Read Later" folder, so at least there somewhat organized. But I'm not always good about naming the articles as I'm saving them.
Eventually, it's time to clean out my computer files again. And, when I open my "Read Later" folder, there might be hundreds of files in there, and I have no idea what half of them are.
There was a time when, in that situation, I only had two choices. I could just delete all of the unnamed articles in the folder. Or I could open each file, one by one, to find out what was in them.
Luckily, I found a file manager called xplorer2 lite, and it gave me a third option.
What Is xplorer2 lite?
The free version of xplorer2 is a file manager similar to Windows Explorer. With xplorer2 lite, you can see all of the files that are on your computer, organize them into folders, rename them, and so on.
Quickly Preview Your Files
One feature I love in the free version of xplorer2 is the quick previewer window. With it, you can see what a file contains without having to open it.
With the quick previewer, you can preview HTML documents, rich text files, text files, and image files, like those in GIF, JPEG, and PNG formats.
You can actually read text and rich text files in xplorer2, without having to open them at all.
With xplorer2 lite, you can actually preview files from within a compressed folder. Do you have a lot of documents put away in a zip file? With xplorer2 lite, you can easily look over those files at any time, without unzipping the zip file.
xplorer2 can also preview MP3 and video files. All you have to do is select or highlight a file in xplorer2, and it will begin to play in the quick viewer pane.
Other Features
The free version of xplorer2 comes with a lot of other features. While xplorer2 lite comes with all of the features you'd expect to find in a windows explorer. It also has some other features, like a file splitter and a file merger, and much more.
There is a paid version of xplorer2 and, as you might imagine, the paid version comes with even more features, and you can upgrade to the paid version without breaking the bank. But, for many, the freeware version of xplorer2 lite will be all you need.
