Xtra Laundry Detergent Review
Xtra Laundry Detergent is one of few clothing products with a light scent. That is one of the aspects that I like about this laundry detergent. The scent is nice, but not overbearing. That can be a good change from detergents with strong scents that linger for days on end. It is great to have clothes that smell good. However, some laundry detergents are quite bothersome after a while when it comes to scent.
Quality
Xtra Laundry Detergent is available with or without bleach. I have used both styles of detergent and had ok results. No matter which one you decide to use, it can be tough cleaning some dirty clothes. This can affect men a great deal, because athletes and labor workers usually have soiled uniforms and other clothing. Mothers usually have lots of soiled clothing because children will make a mess. Therefore, Xtra Laundry Detergent may not be the best choice.
I had a pair of pants that had dye and ink on them from another garment. It took three loads of washing with Xtra Laundry Detergent before I could get the pants to look clean. Even then, all of the dye was not removed. While Xtra Laundry Detergent comes in a large container, you may have to use a lot of it to get your clothes cleaned. This is because the detergent is watery and not as efficient as some other laundry products.
Price
You can buy a gallon of Xtra Laundry Detergent for $3.99. Depending on where you shop, it may even be possible to find it on sale where you can get two for $5. The liquid in Xtra Laundry Detergent is plentiful, making it an ideal choice compared to expensive brands. It is the main reason why I have chosen to use Xtra Laundry Detergent in many occasions. Almost anyone can afford this product and still have money left over for fabric softener or dryer sheets.
Verdict
Using Xtra Laundry Detergent allows you to get a more for your money. However, that diminishes when multiple cups of detergent has to be used for one load of laundry. No one should have to wash clothes repeatedly in order to get them clean. It usually takes one full cup of detergent with other products. That is the way it should be. Xtra Laundry Detergent smells great and is very cheap. I would recommend using this product only if you are really low on money and need to save cash where possible.

Post a CommentToday I used the xtra laundry on my clothes and they were ruined they have white spots all over. 2- sweatshirts @ 17.95 each-sweats 7.95- 5 pr. socks and a pair of slacks for 21.95. I would like to have at least some kind of payment for this.
today I used the xtra laundry soap in my washer and it left the clothes with white spots all over them they are ruined. I had 2 sweatshirts @$17.95 3ach apair of sweats @7.99 slacks @ 29.95 AND 4 PR. OF SOCKS. i THINK i SHOULD BE PAID FOR A CERTAIN % OF THIS.
The yellow cap on my bottle of xtra is different from the other ones I have bought..........its very hard for me to open......i'll have to get my hubby to help me with the new cap......
I usually just use it while the washer fills and I throw my clothes in there. It gives my clothes a little extra scent.
I wouldnt buy it again. I am up at 2 am writing this because I itch so bad from the rash that the detergent gave me
Here's my problem. I can't figure out how much to use. I went to the xtra website and they told me to follow the instructions on the bottle. There are NO instructions on the bottle. So if they tell me I'm going to get 44 loads per bottle, is that 44 small loads? You think I got time to measure 44 capfuls? Can I get a little help here? Am I alone? P.S. Cleans OK.
i like most are on a budget when i can i buy gain powder for 5 dollars for 40 loads thats like a dollar a load then i go to the laundry mat and spend 3 dollars for a double load there it does not go far i like xtra cuz its cheaper for more loads and cleans the same at the laundry mat... if you use the laundry mat you understand that there is not to much you can do to get truly clean cloths so you are better off not wasting your money and just do what you can to get through the week
I have purchased Xtra detergent while bargain hunting to give it a try. I wasn't very impressed with it's cleaning power. It is an OK detergent if you work in an office environment and don't get your clothes very soiled. It is OK on things like sheets and towels. However, it is not good on anything that requires stain removal. My whites became dingy after a short period of time and those "mystery" food and grease stains remained on the fronts of shirts. If you are on a budget I would suggest it for loads of laundry that don't have a lot of ground in dirt or stains to extend your budget but not on laundry that is actually soiled. I find that by clipping coupons and watching the sales at my local market, I can do better than Xtra and buy premium detergents at about the same price or even cheaper sometimes. This is not my favorite detergent and I am NOT brand loyal. But it isn't a bargain if it doesn't work.
