Yahoo! Mail and Its Features You Need to Know

Everybody may be very familiar with Yahoo! Mail. Recently, Yahoo! Mail just updated to an unlimited mailbox for every account. However, Yahoo! Mail not only provides you unlimited mailbox but also many interesting features that not everybody know how to use them.

1. Check another mailbox with Yahoo! Mail

Yahoo! Mail allows users to add another email account to your Yahoo! Mail account to share, which means that you can check two different email accounts in only one mailbox. This is how you do it:

Log in your Yahoo! Mail and click Options (on the top right side). Choose Mail Addresses. The window that manages your email account in inbox will appear. Click Add and click Configure Account Manually (on the right side). You have to fill in some information.

Account name: the name of your new account.

Mail Server: your POP of the new email account (Example: pop.yahoo.com).

Username and Password: type in your username and password of your second email account.

Indicator: choose your favorite color.

Click Save Changes to finish. Only with Yahoo! Mail Plus account, you can send email through the second email account. With the free Yahoo! Mail account, you only receive email from the second email account into your shared inbox.

2. Change color for Yahoo! Mail

To make your Yahoo! Mail appearance less boring, you can change the color of it every week. (Well! I change it everyday). Simply go to Options, click Colors. Pick the color you like and click Save. You will see your favorite color become the theme of your Yahoo! Mail.

3. Export email address in Yahoo! Mail:

In Yahoo! Mail, you can export email address of your friends and family in Address Book to use with another email client like Outlook Express, Gmail... Yahoo! Mail supports exporting email address for both .CSV (for Outlook) and .VCF.

Log in your account and click Addresses tab. Choose Import/Export. In the Scroll Down menu, choose the file type you want to export (Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo!, Netscape, Vcard). Click Browse to locate where you want to save the files. Click the corresponding button "Export Now" at the bottom to export for each file type.

4. Delete Yahoo! Mail Account:

If you do not use your account any longer, it is okay to leave your account there. (It is free anyway). However, some of your friends may still send emails to your mailbox, which you will never check again. If you delete your inactive account, your friends will know that you are no longer using that account and stop sending you emails.

You have to go here and log in with the account you want to delete. Read the term and retype your password. Click "Yes, Terminate this Account" to finish.
