Surf the Web Faster and Easier with Yahoo Pop Blocker

The Yahoo pop up blocker is one of the many features you get when you download the Yahoo Toolbar. The Yahoo pop up blocker is only available for Internet Explorer users. Mozilla Firefox users do not need an additional pop up blocker because the Firefox browser already has one built-in. To install the Yahoo Toolbar, click on Download Yahoo! Toolbar from the toolbar.yahoo.com page. Yahoo will automatically start downloading the toolbar and start the installation process. A box will open giving you three different options that you may or may not want. After you've selected the options you want, click Next. You'll then need to agree with the License Agreement by clicking I Agree. Then you will select Yes or No for the Privacy Policy. Next you will need to click Install.

After clicking install, you will be given the option to personalize the Yahoo Toolbar by adding buttons. There are over 100 buttons you can add, including eBay, Facebook, YouTube and Wikipedia. You can also make your own buttons for quick access to websites you frequently visit such as Associated Content. To get the button for Yahoo pop up blocker, click the link to view the Toolbar Button Gallery. Make sure you're on the Personalize tab from the toolbar.yahoo.com page and scroll down to the bottom of the screen where you will see the link in blue. Click on Pop up blocker, then Add This Button, and then Save Changes. You can then either click on Make More Changes or click Finish.

You have the option of having Yahoo pop up blocker allow pop ups by adding websites to your Allowed List or turning Yahoo pop up blocker off. You can also bypass the Yahoo pop up blocker by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on a link. Yahoo pop up blocker can be set to play a sound to alert you when a pop up has been blocked. To access any of these options, you click on the Yahoo pop up blocker button on the Yahoo toolbar.

Compared to other free pop up programs, Yahoo pop up blocker is one of the best. Not only will Yahoo pop up blocker stop pop up ads, it also blocks pop under ads that open underneath your browser window, as well as pop ups that open when you close your browser window or open when you leave certain websites. However, it doesn't block windows that open when you click on a link that is supposed to open in another window or pop ups from websites that you've approved. By getting the Yahoo pop up blocker, you also get many other features included with the Yahoo toolbar that will make surfing the internet faster and easier.

Great article! Sounds like it's a good option. I have the pop up blocker in my McAfee stuff but this is good to know should we decide not to renew with them.
