Yahoo! Shopping: Guide to the Best Teen Fashions

Lisa Mason

Shopping for your teen and preteen kids does not have to be difficult or a bank-breaker. Have you ever wanted to just get it all in one place, save money and get things you know the kids will love? One way that I have found to do this for four kids (and a 5th on the way) is to shop online. There's less stress, it's easier to comparison shop and my kids can join me at the computer and point out what they like and don't.

Juicy Couture Clothing

Ok, I admit, Juicy Couture is not just for my preteen daughter. I happen to really love some of their clothing and handbags for myself. I'm a purse junky so I often buy bags that my daughter and I can share. They also have kids purses and bags. My daughter loves their fashion line and wears hoodies, dresses, Capri pants and more from the popular line.

Roxy Clothing

My ten year old is really into Roxy clothing. She loves their style and it's easy to always find something she likes that we approve of and that fits her. She found a new swimsuit for our recent summer beach vacation, a cute denim skirt and many other clothes and accessories for great prices.

Volcom Clothing

Volcom has clothing all of the kids love but my son is into their sportier styles and winter gear like jackets. My daughter loves sandals and even tries to wear them in the winter. I love that their clothing ages with them and is not something they will outgrow by next season. This line suits their maturing tastes and always stays in fashion.

Hurley

Hurley has some good gear for the gals and the guys but my 12 year old son is especially fond of their clothing line. He loves t-shirts like the T Shirt : Hurley Supernova Navy T-Shirt and their casual Mens Hurley Shorts. I get everything for him at affordable prices and I feel like the clothing holds up better over time. He can be rough on clothing as he plays sports, skateboards and is just generally a young man

Some Tips for Smart Shopping

It helps when you already know what sizes you need beforehand. Shopping for growing teens and preteens often means going slightly bigger but not so much bigger that the clothes don't fit well. When you know what size they wear in each designer, you're good for ordering online. Designers vary so if you're not sure what size they wear or if shopping from a new brand, check all the measurements.

It also helps to read all the details of a listing before purchasing it. Make sure you know what you're really getting. Don't just glance at the photo and toss it in the cart. Be selective when shopping online and choose vendors that give adequate information about their products.

Another way to save - look for sales and shipping discounts. When I buy clothes online for my kids, I try to buy several things at a time so I can save more on the shipping. Many retailers also run free or reduced shipping deals when you buy more than a certain amount at a time (often $100). I get the boys and girls stuff and save by having it all shipped together.

You can find what is hot and trendy right now in teen fashions without breaking the bank when you learn to be a savvy shopper online.
