No journey to the Forbidden Mountain is complete without a visit to Yak and Yeti. (The name is taken from the famous hotel in Nepal.) At Yak and Yeti, you will be dazzled by unique artifacts and exotic souvenirs. The restaurant provides guests with an amazing atmosphere: two large levels of decor straight from Southeast Asia. You may forget you're still in the Sunshine State, and think you've hopped on a plane to Nepal.
The food is every bit as good as the setting, if not better. I highly recommend starting off with one of their speciality cocktails, specifically the Everest Avalanche. Then try one or more of their magnificent Asian appetizers, which start at $6.99. Entrees start at around $14 and include dishes straight from the wok, such as beef with broccoli. Or I highly recommend their Lo Mein; order it with either shrimp or chicken. Other menu items include Crispy Honey Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Mandarin Chicken Salad, Baby Back Ribs, Duck, Kong Pau Beef and more. Save room for dessert, such as the brownie sundae, because they, too, are exceptional.
The children's menu includes chicken bites, chicken fried rice with an egg roll, burgers and vegetable lo mein.
Unfortunately, Yak and Yeti does not (yet?) accept the Disney Dining Experience card. But they do accept Annual or Seasonal Passes for ten percent off dining entrees (not beverages). They will begin accepting reservations for January starting December 3, 2007. Until then, you are welcome to walk in and dine. Lunch hours are from ten a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and dinner is served from four p.m. until the park closes.
Service at Yak and Yeti is currently a bit slow, but it seems they are just working out some kinks. I expect that within a month or two, Yak and Yeti will be running every bit as smoothly as other Disney restaurants in Orlando.
Yak and Yeti has been under construction for at least the past six months, and now that it has finally arrived, I can assure you it was worth the wait. Yak and Yeti offers a fine dining alternative to the Rainforest Café and Restaurantasaurus at Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida.

Jack, Good article!! I found it hard to read with the Kayak background though.
Sounds like an interesting place. :-)
