What is so funny is that he was so serious about it and was honestly trying to answer the reporters' questions. Chan Ho Park is from Korea and perhaps there is somewhat of a language barrier; but I believe his message was perfectly clear--he had diarrhea!
He stated in a very matter-of-fact manner, "I had a lot of diarrhea. That - That is what you want to know?"
As the reporters laughed hysterically, he asked, "what? What, it's funny?"
Chan Ho Park reported suffering from flu-like symptoms on the opening day appearance against the Yankee's match up against the Boston Red Sox. I give the guy a lot of credit. He was serious and wanted everyone to know why his performance suffered. Many pitchers who have fared worse did not have that good of an excuse!
Park has a 1-year, $1.2 million deal with the Yankees. He probably could have signed for more but he turned down an off-season deal with the Phillies For $3 million in December. Parks told the Korea Times, "I want to be a starter again, I would really enjoy playing for the Phillies again, but my first consideration in making my decision is finding a circumstance that is right for me. I want to play for the Phillies again, but I also wouldn't mind joining a team I've never played with before."
Three days later, Chan pitched much more effectively. He obviously plays very well when not suffering from stomach ailments. Last season, Chan Ho Park retired Manny Ramirez, Matt Kemp and Casey Blake in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series at Dodger Stadium.

Post a Commenti love eating poop. it taste so good.
Haven't we all used "a lot of diarrhea" as an excuse at some point? ;)
Diarrhea doesn't occur in one's pitching arm. Hmmm... Maybe throwing those really hard pitches was just too much for his sphincter.
OMG poor guy
Wow...
Too bad he could not communicate that very immediate medical issue to his coaches making the decisions that day for who goes out on the mound and when. Just goes to show us that $&*# happens?!
Poor thing!!
Nancy's comment is a home run!!
Well, that explains the runs...
Good reporting Janet. Its too bad people make fun of this. I know that they wouldn't be laughing if it happened to them. Also notices Mary Lin, trying to do some cheap spamming. Too bad. Some people just don't want to make an honest living like we all do. Great article thou Janet.
