Known to the locals as simply "Ybor" the nightlife includes some of the hottest college bars & night clubs in the area. You'll find every kind of club imaginable here including, techno dance clubs, outdoor patio bars, martini bars, entertainment venues, happy hour bars, live music jazz bars and much more. You can stroll 7th Avenue and party till your hearts content .Most of the clubs are open 7 days a week and offer mid week specials and Ladies Night but on Friday and Saturday nights the streets are alive with people ready to dance the night away! Many of the clubs don't charge a cover if you get there before 10pm so it's a good idea to get there early and "bar hop" collecting all your wristbands. This way when you're bored with one club you can hop on over to the next one. There's always plenty of activity happening in the streets and people watching is always a blast. My personal favorite is a club called "Frankie's Patio" the outdoor (patio) area is a great place to chill with friends and enjoy a live band while sipping cold Margaritas under the stars. What could be better than that!
But I can't write about Ybor City and not mention the food! The restaurants range from ethnic cuisine to small pizza shops. And since the area is full of immigrants from Cuba, Spain, and Italy you'll find some AMAZING eats here. I do recommend you enjoy your meal prior to your night out, I mean there's no need to waste good food right? Ybor is also home to two of the biggest events held in Tampa each year the Guavaween Festival (which is a spooktacular Halloween event where gools and goblins roam the streets) and the Gasparilla Night Parade ( a pirate filled celebration to commemorate the invasion of Tampa Bay by the pirate Jose Gaspar) Whether you are a history buff, looking for some relaxation, amazing food, or some excitement after dark, Ybor City is definitely a place to visit in Tampa.
