YCN Writers Share Their 2011 New Years Resolutions

A common practice as the calendar turns to January is to create New Years Resolutions. While not everyone chooses to participate in this tradition, many of my fellow writers have joined in this annual setting of goals. See how yours compare.

Suzanne Alicie

Suzanne Alicie is a writer on numerous websites, and publishes on many topics here at YCN. Amy Brantley is a Featured Contributor in Health & Wellness, Shopping & Fashion, and Food & Wine with an outstanding 8 million-plus page views to date. Her goal for next year? Raise that total by 50%, to be at 12 million page views by the year's end. She also hopes to write 600 articles for AC this year.

Andrea Coventry

For myself, I have chosen to set a goal, as opposed to actual "resolutions." I have been writing online for just over 3 years now. I started when this writing platform was known as Associated Content, and am now a Featured Contributor in Parenting, Education, and Arts & Entertainment. Through my connections here, I also embarked on many other writing adventures, and finally launched my own website. In my tenure on YCN, I have published over 400 pieces (including slideshows, and partner pieces) and have over 400,000 page views. My goal for the end of 2011 is to double those efforts. I want to have 800 published pieces, and hit at least 800,000 page views (which really means hoping for a million).

Kenzy England

Kenzy England is a Featured Contributor in Arts & Entertainment with about 270,000 page views. She seeks to continue her efforts at YCN by increasing page views (maybe a millionaire?) and taking on more assignments. She also wants to keep working on her personal blog and book.

Rebecca Foster

Rebecca Foster is a YCN contributor who doesn't believe in making New Years resolutions. In fact, she even penned a piece entitled, "New Years Resolutions You Shouldn't Make." Focus on changing things any time of year!

Debbie Henthorn

She seeks to hit the 1 million mark and to maintain the Hot 500 badge and triple digits in revenue on a monthly basis. Lyn Lomasi is a Featured Contributor in Pets, Parenting, and Education. She has well over 2 million page views, but isn't a fan of making resolutions.

Lisa Mason is a Community Guide at YCN, who is also a Featured Contributor in Video Games, Green, and Parenting. She has almost 900,000 page views, which will make her a page view millionaire early in the New Year. She has been a content writer for well over a decade, and knows what she is doing. In addition to spending more time with her family this year, she is aiming to write and publish another book.

Jolie du Pre

Jolie du Pre is a Featured Contributor in the Arts & Entertainment category with well over 1 million page views. Her work is also often featured on Yahoo! sites, like OMG! and Yahoo! TV. Her goals for 2011 are to hit a million page views on OMG! and Yahoo! TV. At the same time, she is determined to finally finish her novel, while working on a short story for a new erotica anthology, producing the first Leodegraunce print book of flash fiction, and avoiding offensive people in the forums. Outside of writing, she seeks to maintain her daughter at college by sending care packages, and to get herself back in shape as soon as it is physically possible following foot surgery.

Linda StCyr

Linda StCyr is a Featured Contributor in Arts & Entertainment, Food & Wine, and Shopping & Fashion, with almost 500,000 page views. She also seeks to double page views over the year, reaching that coveted millionaire status. She also hopes to finish those featured pieces earlier, and to get her writer rate website set in place for private clients.

She also seeks to improve her recycling efforts and keep up with a healthy weight and lifestyle. Because we are also friends in real life, I have vowed to drive over and enforce this!

A group of us have decided to make it a resolution to get to know each other better in person, by meeting at least one fellow contributor. Seek people who live close to you and arrange a writing date. Or, get brave and travel the distance to meet someone with whom you have connected online!
