Year 2012 Prophecy

As time draws closer to December 21, 2012 fear grows in the hearts and minds of many people. Two reasons, the Bible 2012 end of the world predictions and the Mayan predictions of the 'Great Cycle', come to mind before any of the many other theories.

The Book of Revelation in the Bible
Yes, the Bible is filled with mysterious symbols and expressions, but the scriptures reveal to us from a Biblical perspective many signs to watch for, the book of Revelation speaks of plagues, earthquakes, famine, meteor storms and more. Revelation and other books in the Bible, specifically Daniel reveal to mankind much of what will come before the return of Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, many people have never actually read the scriptures themselves or have tried and given up due to the unique way it is written, and others simply refuse to believe anything related to the Bible. Yet, it is filled with valuable information for the benefit of mankind. One does not have to be a Christian to know that many of the scriptures have been challenged, yet its accuracy is undeniable.

Mayans 2012 Predictions
The Maya civilization has made some astounding predictions, however it is their writing, mathematics and astronomical studies which they are skilled at; these beliefs and skills are a part of their history and calculated predictions. Mayans measured the length of the solar year to a high degree of accuracy, and according to the Maya calendar, 21 December 2012 at 11:11 PM the world will change forever. Or a new cycle of life shall begin.

A galactic alignment is predicted during the winter solstice 2012, Mayans predict that the sun will become aligned with the Milky Way's - Earth's home galaxy - center. Interestingly this solar occurrence is expected to disrupt life on earth. Thus, we have the fear of the 'Mayan Year for Doomsday.' NASA website states, "...each December the Earth and sun align with the approximate center of the Milky Way Galaxy but that is an annual event of no consequence.

Planet X NASA
Nostradamus predicted that a comet will hit the earth, and it certainly has piqued the interest of many. NASA has addressed the question of Planet X read in part what it states on NASA.gov website: Question: Is there a planet or brown dwarf called Nibiru or Planet X or Eris that is approaching the Earth and threatening our planet with widespread destruction? Answer (in part): Nibiru and other stories about wayward planets are an Internet hoax...If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth in 2012..." AND "...Eris is real, but it is a dwarf planet similar to Pluto that will remain in the outer solar system...". NASA.gov also answers other questions related to 2012, such as magnetic field reversal or pole shifting.

Underground Bunkers
This topic has caused many raised eyebrows. Recent reports of a Russian company, Vivos, building underground bunkers in the US makes one wonder. The first question that may come to mind may be, is there going to be some sort of nuclear war or an alien invasion, which causes fear. BUT what if it is a natural disaster that these bunkers are being built in preparation for rather than some man-made catastrophe or alien attack?

The bottom line, knowledge is power and with it you have the power to decide what you believe. Will the world end in 2012? Research topics you do not understand, learn about the world we live in, and more importantly read the Bible with an open mind; you have the power to choose between living in fear or with peace. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27

We may not be able to control whatever the future may bring our way, however we can decide how we feel and react to information. Living in fear is not healthy, as a Bible believing Christian the author finds comfort in the scriptures and believes; "I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
