Okay, I know what you are thinking. Yeast infection? Ewwww! But, since they are common enough that three out of four women will experience a vaginal yeast infection at some point, these annoying, itchy infections are worth discussing. If you are a female and haven't had a yeast infection yet, it's only a matter of time until you are drafted by Club Candida. Fortunately, yeast infection home remedies work and they may save you from a trip to the doctor or the pharmacy.
Tea Tree oil is gaining popularity in the world of yeast infection home remedies. Because tea tree oil is very powerful stuff, never use it directly on the skin. Dilute it in water before applying to the vaginal area. Some websites advise diluting 5 drops each of tea tree oil and isopropyl alcohol to a pint of water , then douching with the mixture every day for a week.

Apple Cider Vinegar can also be used to treat yeast infections. Pour about 1.5 cups of apple cider vinegar into your bath water every day, then soak for about 20 minutes.. You can also douche with a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar or drink a large glass of water with a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar daily.

Garlic is one of the best yeast infection home remedies. According to Midwifery Today, it can easily cure a yeast infection, especially if caught early. It is advised to insert one clove of garlic into the vagina at night, then remove it in the morning. To make removal a bit easier, you may want to sew a thread through it. If you find that you need a stronger dose, you can cut into the garlic clove.

Yogurt contains useful probiotics that are known to kill the fungus that causes yeast infections. Eat plain yogurt or use it directly in the vagina to help cure a yeast infection. Be sure to use a yogurt without added sugar, because sugar can make the yeast infection worse.

No matter which of these yeast infection home remedies you choose, be sure to avoid the kinds of foods and activities that make a yeast infection worse. Eat a healthy diet low in sugar, keep yourself clean and wear cotton panties.

  • Yeast infection home remedies work well and use many items you probably already have.
Stay away from sugary foods when using any of these yeast infection home remedies. Sugar helps the fungus grow, so consuming it is counter productive.
