Yellow Duck Truck Company, itself connected to Holiday Smog, was a truck rental company that was known for its big yellow moving trucks, many of which had a yellow rubber duck logo on the side. These Yellow Duck Trucks were a familiar site around Santa Cruz County until recently when the Yellow Duck Truck Company converted to Budget Truck Rental.

Apparently the business was in the process of being sold, and all the Yellow Duck Trucks were sold off. The pending sale of the business subsequently fell through, but all the Yellow Duck Trucks had already been sold. So instead of disappearing from the Santa Cruz business scene entirely, the Yellow Duck Truck Company became a Budget Truck Rental franchise location. Now the same friendly family behind the Yellow Duck Truck Company is behind the scenes at the new Budget Truck Rental location on Capitola Drive in Santa Cruz.

It is impossible to say enough nice things about the folks at Holiday Smog and now Budget Truck Rental. I have been renting trucks from these fine folks for many years, and they have always been extremely accommodating and helpful when I have needed a truck on short notice or when I unexpectedly needed to retain a truck a tad longer than the rental agreement had indicated. It is this flexibility and courtesy that makes Yellow Duck Truck and/or Budget Truck Rental at Holiday Smog the friendliest and most satisfying place to rent a truck in Santa Cruz County.

One advantage of the switch from Yellow Duck Trucks to the new Budget trucks is the fact that the new Budget trucks are available in several sizes, compared to the one-size-fits-all of the Yellow Duck Trucks. I recently moved into a house with a narrow driveway and so I needed a very small moving truck to get me up the dirt road to my new house, so Budget Truck Rental at Holiday Smog was able to help me out with this move in a way that they would not have been able to before the switch from Yellow Duck Truck.
