Yellow Journalism of the Brooklyn Paper Suggests Traffic-Calming Advocates Cause Prospect Heights' Flatbush Avenue Six-Car Accident
Brooklyn, NY 11238
United States of America
"It is unclear whether the accident had any connection to a widely attended pro-bicycle rally which drew 250 people to Grand Army Plaza at around the same time. The accident and the rally were on opposite sides of Grand Army Plaza, but it is rare for so many people to be gathered at that hour on a weekday, so it is likely that traffic flow was affected," says Thomas Tracy of The Brooklyn Paper.
Whether or not people were milling around Grand Army Plaza has nothing to do with a driver's responsibility to drive safely. To suggest traffic calming advocates caused an accident can only be characterized as yellow journalism or a very poor opinion in a news report.
