Yellow and Blue Kitchen Decor Idea
Warm up the kitchen with a buttery yellow palette, for timeless kitchen decor. Keep the yellow balanced with accents of blue, copper accessories and earthy-brown tones. This happy, earthy color palette and design plan will help any home owner who is looking for a yellow and blue kitchen decor palette.
A creamy yellow is at the hearth of the warm kitchen design. When selecting a yellow for the yellow and blue kitchen decor, collect several different paint chips in the same hue and place them around the kitchen. See how the existing light plays with the yellow. Yellow is one of those delicate paint colors which can take on a different hue once it is applied to your walls.
One example of warm and creamy yellow, which will look timeless in your yellow and blue kitchen, include Afternoon from Sherwin-Williams Paints. Add a deep, dark Naval from Sherwin-Williams Paints as an accent color.
For a tertiary palette, add a grayish brown, Warm Stone from Sherwin-Williams Paints. This paint color will help ground your yellow and blue kitchen.
A similar yellow and blue kitchen decor can be created with Lemon Souffle yellow from Behr Paints. Add the deep Lost Atlantis blue and the greenish-brown River Bank.
Decorate the kitchen with copper accessories including a teapot or hanging copper pots. Look for dishes, rugs and wall decor with tones of glittery copper.
This yellow and blue kitchen decor idea could also use some bronze sink hardware. Consider replacing the existing kitchen sink faucet with timeless bronze faucet hardware.
An existing ceiling fan may also be replaced with a fan that has bronze or copper pieces, to help complete the look of this yellow and blue kitchen.
Yellow and Red Kitchen Decor Idea
Use the same creamy yellow to use with a worn red to create modern, Asian-inspired kitchen decor. The other option is to select a yellow which leans towards a tan color. One example is Viva Gold from Sherwin-Williams Paints.
Select a bold but slightly powdered red. One example is Rave Red by Sherwin-Williams Paints. This red has a burning intensity, but that intensity is tamed. Firecracker from Behr Paints is another strong red paint color choice.
This yellow and red kitchen decor will be complete when you use a warm black for accents and cabinets. The charcoal black, Domino, from Sherwin-Williams Paints is a bold choice. Another option is Black Bean from Behr Paints.
Accessorize the yellow and red kitchen Asian-inspired decor with square lights and other square, graphic accessories.
For kitchen appliance upgrades, go with stainless steel to complete this Asian-inspired and modern kitchen decor.

Post a CommentNice idea, but I would think yellow and purple or blue and orange would look better together. But that is my opinion.
Excellent ideas, Pam. I like yellow and blue.
Yellow kitchens look very cheery in the winter :)
Grits - We joke about a yellow kitchen because one of the rooms in our house now is an institutional yellow. I think we are leaning towards copper or Celadon :-)
Are you in your new house and considering a yellow kitchen? Sounds pretty.
Very creative article idea, Pam!
I really love these.
I'm sending a friend who is considering updating her kitchen the URL. Thanks.
