Yellow Wedding Ideas

If you're planning a spring or summer wedding, yellow is the perfect color to match the season. Yellow evokes thoughts of warm sunshine, brightly colored flowers, and lemonade, all which people associate with fond summertime memories. Whether you're having an outdoor wedding or an indoor ceremony, yellow can be a beautiful, fun color to plan a wedding around. Many brides will take the yellow wedding motif even further by picking one yellow item as a central theme, like sunflowers or lemons.

Yellow Wedding Invitations
Black, white, and yellow make an elegant statement when paired together, as seen in these sewn half-flower invites by Merriment. If you're crafty, there is a template and instructions for creating these invitations on the site. Pretty In Paper offers a variety of yellow invitation kits for the do it yourself wedding couple for around $80. If you don't want to go with invitations that are almost completely yellow, choose a white background with a yellow design feature, such as a simple sunflower, rose, or daffodil.

Yellow Bridal Bouquets
What kinds of flowers you will be able to use in your bouquet will depend largely on where you live and what is available at the time of the wedding. A few vibrant yellow flowers to use in your bouquet are of course sunflowers, yellow calla lilies, daffodils, yellow roses, and ranunculus. Mix them with coordinating red, peach, or orange flowers and greenery. Simple yellow tulips tied with ribbon would make a lovely bridesmaid bouquet.

Yellow Reception Centerpieces
A centerpiece made with citrus fruits will add interest and a pop of color to the table. Fill a contemporary styled clear glass square vase with lemons and top it off with a yellow flower. A variation on this idea would be to put sliced lemons or limes in a vase to hold up several stem flowers, such as yellow tulips.

Yellow Wedding Decor
Instead of saturating the ceremony with yellow, think of places where a splash of color could be thrown in. Have yellow numbers or names printed on your table place cards or have a printed card attached to a lemon to designate seats at the reception. Yellow napkins, flowers on the ends of the rows at the ceremony, tablecloths, favors, a candy bar featuring lemon drops, and yellow wedding favors are all ideas that would be suitable for a yellow-themed wedding.
