Yes to Carrots Completely Cooling Body Butter: A Review

Gwendolyn Taylor
The renowned Yes To Carrots brand has a sub line called Yes To Cucumbers that offers natural products geared toward sensitive skin. Their "Completely Cooling Body Butter" is one of the several beneficial products in this sub line. This moisturizing cream is actually perfect for all skin types and is especially suitable for the dry, winter seasons.

I really like the Yes To Carrots brand and so I decided to give this product a try. This particular formula contains organic cucumber extract (obviously), organic green tea extract, Dead Sea minerals, organic dill extract, organic green pepper extract, organic broccoli extract, organic Shea butter, spinach extract, and organic Ginkgo Biloba extract. It also contains essential organic oils such as olive, Jojoba, avocado, almond, and canola oils. One of its primary ingredients includes Spirulina algae which is chock full of vitamins and proteins.

Is this product really that moisturizing? Yes, indeed it is, and its moisturizing effects last for quite awhile. The packaging claims that this formula "absorbs effortlessly into your skin", but I would have to beg to differ. My problem with most "intense" moisturizing creams/lotions is that they are too greasy and take a long time to absorb which ends up being wiped off out of impatience or leaving marks on everything I handle. This cream does the same. It takes awhile to absorb, so it's best to be applied after your shower (if you're not running late somewhere) or right before you go to bed.

My only other complaint about this is the scent. It's a bit too strong and musky for my liking, but others might actually enjoy the scent. The price of this product is not that appealing either. For a 8.45 fl oz./250 ml container, this retails for around $12.99. A little does go a long way. Yes, indeed this is natural and contains organic ingredients, but I really wish "natural" stuff weren't so over priced and more affordable. Luckily, I got this on sale. You can try this out for yourself, for these are sold at mass merchandise stores such as Target, drugstores such as Walgreens, and specialty beauty stores such as ULTA.
