Yes Man Starring Jim Carrey and Zooey Deschanel is Funnier Than Liar Liar

Phillip W. Chambley
Although, this film does remind you of Jim Carrey's "Liar Liar" movie because he always has to tell the truth? "Yes Man" always has to say "Yes" to anything in life? Jim Carrey has finally taken his comedy to a higher level using his talented slapstick antics from previous films such as "Dumb and Dumber", "Bruce Almighty", "Ace Ventura", "The Mask" and ironically "Fun with Dick and Jane".

Especially, the part where he is riding this little 125 CC moped/scooter motorcycle with Allison (Zooey Deschanel) sometimes on the back and even sometimes by himself showing his butt while wearing a hospital gown at the end, which reminded me of "Dumb and Dumber" co-starring Jeff Daniels traveling to Aspen Colorado U.S.A. on their weird adventure to return a money filled suitcase.

Jim Carrey is beginning to show his age, but is "Funnier than ever!" using his enormous talents as a big screen and television performer/actor during this comical film called "Yes Man!" where after attending a 500 person seminar with the highly acclaimed motivated spokes person Guru called Terrance Bundley (actor Terence Stamp). To simply say "Yes" to everything?

Carl Allen divorced loser, Los Angelos financial loan officer played by Jim Carrey is encouraged to simply say "YES" to anything in his depressed life? But, unfortunately did NOT listen to and "read between lines!" So to speak! After attending this motivational seminar. The next day at work. Carl decides to look up any and everthing on the internet and simply say "Yes" using his credit card.

Learning how to fly a small airplane, speaking the Korean language, marrying Persian women online and even learning how to play the guitar where he saved a young mans life getting ready to jump off of a high rise apartment building playing and singing the words of "Jumper" originally recorded by Third Eye Blind. Carl grabbed this man and pulled him inside the apartment, thus becoming a hero, as recorded and filmed by the media live on tape.

His ex-wife Stephanie (Molly Sims) sees him on T.V. and is excited because of his heroic event, which reminds me of "Liar and Liar" showing her compassion for this long lost financial advisor, which is a copy of "The Mask", and gives everyone a "loan approval". Stephanie has re-married since their divorce, but sees something unique in Carl, because her and her present husband are having differences of opinions? And ask Carl to come over to her home and makes sexual advances toward him.

Carl tells her "This is NOT going to work!" Because he is still in love with Allison. Ironically, because he said the word "NO" his tragic chain of events seem to submerge suddenly after leaving her apartment and the GURU Terrance of saying "yes" is struck by his automobile and the two of them end up in the hospital, thus leading to more film comedy!

The next day, the "Hit motivator" Terrance Bundley is in the room next to Carl. And simply states "That's not true?" after hearing Carl tell his sad story of saying "Yes" to everything? Which means "Sometimes in life you just have to say NO!" Provided that it has a purpose and love of other human beings, which his frustrated friend told him before hand of these events.

"Zooey Deschanel (Allison) has an excellent sexy voice during this film". Most hetorsexual men will notice this part, because of her beautiful blue eyes and body while she is performing on stage in this local bar that Carl has came out to see, because at the time, "He just can't say NO regarding a flyer he received? Zooey should continoue thinking about her career as a singer and a big screen actor simply because she has the talent and charm that most film producers are looking for.
