"Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" is one of the more famous lines in journalism. Did the writer of the response "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus," ever imagine this line would be just as popular 112 years later?
Tonight at 8 PM on CBS, Macy's produced a new animated Christmas special, "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus." The tale is based on a letter from 8 year old Virginia Hanlon to the New York Sun. The famous letter was sent in 1897 to question the existence of Santa. As a New York writer, this is one of my favorite Christmas stories.
