Going on a shooting spree when upset appears to be a popular trend among students these days. Today, on October 10, 2007, another occurrence of this kind has taken place, this time in Cleveland, Ohio, at a downtown high school called SuccessTech Academy.

A 14 year old currently unnamed student, reportedly angry about his suspension, entered the school with two handguns and opened fire on the fourth floor, wounding four people. There are conflicting reports regarding how many of the four are students and teachers. According to Frank Jackson, the mayor of Cleveland, two of the wounded are teachers; an earlier news report had stated three students and one teacher were shot.

As the gunman ran through the school's hallways, the principal had issued a "Code Blue" alert, informing students and teachers that a shooting took place and urging them to hide in safe places. The school was evacuated. The gunman is killed; it is at this point unknown whether he died by his own hand or was shot by the police. Shooting victims are taken to hospitals.

Commenting on what took place, a student said that the shooter was "crazy," always wearing a trench coat and a pistol belt, although without a gun. Another student who claimed to be a friend of the gunman said the shooter talked about his worshipping the devil and also about shooting up the school.
