YMCA Memberships for the Whole Family

The YMCA Offers a Great Family Gym Experience for a Great Price

Lori Franks
The YMCA is a great opportunity for families to experience a gym membership for a great price. The YMCA is family oriented and offers classes and programs designed for every family member. Some of the classes offered at my local YMCA include; ballet for children, karate classes for children, swimming lessons for all ages, guitar lessons, an array of exercise classes such as; yoga, step aerobics, kick boxing, zumba, and circuit training. Every YMCA offers encouragement to becoming healthy and provides personal trainers for more one on one health and fitness advice.

When our family was searching around for a gym to join, we found the YMCA offered a family friendly atmosphere that was second to none. They have a kid's summer program filled with fun activities and challenging programs. Life guard certification workshops, CPR classes, and swim teams with scheduled swim meets throughout the year are just a few more of the great opportunities they have to offer. Our local YMCA even has a rock climbing wall if you are feeling very adventurous.

With a YMCA membership you are entitled to visit any YMCA location free of charge. This is a nice benefit if you travel and want to stay inshape. All you have to do is look up the nearest YMCA, drop in for a quick workout and not break your exercise routine.

Our YMCA offers a full exercise room complete with row machines, treadmills, exercise bikes, elliptical machines, stair steppers, free weights and weight machines. They also offer year round water aerobic classes with different classes for levels of difficulty.

Membership in our area is $75 for the whole family per month. I researched quite a few gyms in the area at the YMCA was the choice for us because of the price and the amenities they had to offer. They set up your monthly payment as an automatic debit from the account you choose. For me, this is a very convenient method of payment because I don't have to remember to send in or drop off a payment every month.

The original reason we wanted a gym membership was to have access to a swimming pool for the hot summer months, but after joining the YMCA we discovered so many more fun things to do we could really spend our entire day at the YMCA.
