There are other options to become a Certified Yoga Instructor without it costing your job and your life savings. An intern from another Yoga Teacher Training program recently contacted me. He paid $10,000.00 to train as a Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor on a tropical island. When he found out he could have trained with a correspondence course offered on my website for a fraction of the cost and received the same certification he contacted me right away.
We discussed the differences between the hands-on course on a tropical island with the Yoga Masters and the correspondence courses we offer. I explained to him that we do not have the high costs involved in housing, feeding or supplying our interns with their equipment and transportation. Our interns study in the comfort of their own home or studio, and supply their own equipment. This way we are able to keep our costs down and pass them on to our students and interns. The only cost to our students is for written and audiovisual materials, tutoring and the Certification. We have an on-site program available too but it is more costly than the correspondence course.
The hands-on face-to-face with a Yoga Master is very expensive although it is a valuable service. Our correspondence course is for the experienced practitioner of yoga that does not need as much hands-on guidance. A practitioner of yoga will have his instructor for guidance and will already have the knowledge needed to follow the course on his own or with the help of his instructor. Our courses also offer technical support, email support; telephone support and you can even stop by one of our studios for our Yoga Teacher workshops. The student or intern is not alone. There are many helps available for whatever the need may be.
While on my website, he noticed that Marketing Strategies and How to Start Your Own Business were included in the course. He said he did not get that training in the course he took. He did not know the steps to take to start his own business or how much it would cost or where to start. He had borrowed the money for the course he took from his parents and did not know how or when he would be able to pay them back. I explained how those courses are included in the Standard Course and that we had advanced courses available including Continuing Education for Certified Yoga Instructors. I invited him to one of our marketing workshops when he had the chance.
