Yogyakarta is located in Java island and is one of the smallest province in Indonesia. Yogyakarta still recognize use monarchy system with Sultan Hamengkubuwono X of Yogyakarta as the king and at the same time holding the governorship in this city.
Like Bali, Yogyakarta is also selling cultural activities as their tourism object. In Yogyakarta, tourists can see the temples from thousands of years that are the heritage of kingdoms in the past. Most of huge kingdom from Indonesia in the past came from Java Island.
One of the famous temple in the world definitely come from this city which is Borobudur temple, built by the dynasty of Syailendra in IX century. In addition to beside Borobudur temple figured by Buddhist, there are also figured by Hindu which is Prambanan temple. With both temple with different religion figured is prove Yogyakarta has a history of multicultural.
In addition beside touring the temple, natural tourism also become one of the tourist spot of Yogyakarta. Travelers can choose a tour package that spread around the city of Yogyakarta. Plowing rice field is one of the activities that will be very interesting for foreign tourists. Because plow rice fields in Indonesia still use traditional way with use of cow or buffalo.
Yogyakarta city is very easy to reach from other cities in Indonesia with the various types of transportation. Every day there are several flights from the Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, with only 1 hour trip with a variation of the price that cheap enough.
From Jakarta, travelers can use the train or bus to travel with a low budget. But the executive train (train with AC) has almost same cost with cheap. Because the cost of using flight is almost same, using flight common to be reasonable.To use the train from Jakarta, tourists can use shuttle bus from Jakarta's airport to Gambir railway station in Jakarta. They have varied departure time from the morning until midnight.
