Yoobao Ipad 2 Case/Cover with Sleep Wake Function

Includes a Guide to Fixing the Triggering of Sleep Function when the Case is Folded All the Way Back

The purpose of this article is to showcase the Yoobao Ipad 2 Case. This case offers great protection without compromising the Ipad 2's sleek form. It adds less than 1/8 of an inch to the ipad 2 and the design is great. So why is this Yoobao case being heavily discounted by sellers?

Well there are 2 major problems with the Yoobao case: First, the case comes with a heavy smell because shipment was rushed and they were never properly aired out after manufacture. Second of all, when you flip the case all the way back, it triggers the sleep/wake function (via magnets). The first one can easily be fixed by simply airing it out and throwing some dryer sheets on it. Mine has literally no smell at all.

The second problem, of the Yoobao case triggering the sleep/wake function, is a major problem. The only reason why consumers are currently purchasing alternative cases to apple's official "smart cover" is because they want protection for the back of their ipad and still have the sleep/wake function. I never understood what made the sleep/wake function so special until I used it. It is unbelievably useful and saves your battery.

So onto how to fix this second flaw in a great ipad 2 case. I looked at the case and used magnets to figure out exactly where the magnet was (in the Yoobao case). It was clear that the magnet is located about 1/3 down (from top) on the right margin (of front cover). (There are actually 3 but this is the one that triggers the sleep/wake function). When you flip the Yoobao case back, this magnet is strong enough to activate the sleep/wake because it is in the same position (just on the back).

I realized that to fix this, I simply had to change where the crease (to fold the cover back) was. I created a new crease (for the front cover to flip open/close) on the left side, closest to the front flap. By doing so, you limit how much will flip to the back. (This means the magnet won't reach far enough to trigger the sleep/wake function).

This will work. I will also add pictures soon but I wanted to post this asap.
