Yoplait Delights Parfait: a Review

sandy walker
Whenever I am at the grocery store I keep my eye out for new products to try. My latest trip to the store did not disappoint me. I spotted a low calorie food I had never heard of before. Delights Parfaits from Yoplait are a new product line of 100 calorie yogurts available in the dairy section of the grocery store. These Delights Parfaits are available in four appetizing varieties: Triple Berry Crème, Crème Caramel, Lemon Torte and Chocolate Raspberry.

The flavor I bought to try was the Chocolate Raspberry. I am not generally a fan of raspberry flavors but am a huge fan of chocolate. The raspberry flavor in the yogurt was not overpowering as I feared it would be. Smooth with no fruit chunks it mixed well with the chocolate which was more of a mild milk chocolate flavor than a dark chocolate. I personally think that dark chocolate might taste better with the raspberry but as it is this 100 calorie yogurt is very pleasing in its rich, likable taste and does not have an artificial or chemical aftertaste that some low calorie yogurts have.

While not overly sweet I did not see this particular flavor of yogurt as mild enough to be a breakfast food but more of a snack food. I enjoyed it mid afternoon when I wanted to not stray from my diet but yet wanted something chocolate. The other flavors might lend themselves more to morning fare, especially the Triple Berry Crème so I plan on purchasing that flavor next.

The Delights Parfaits come in a package of four individual four ounce cups. I purchased them for $2.49 and I found a coupon for a dollar off here.
