I'm almost positive Brett Favre loves his wife and his family. I will say the same thing about Tiger Woods and John Edwards as well. So why, if these allegations are true about Brett Fave, does he, as well as Woods and Edwards, (just to name a few) " hurt the one you shouldn't hurt at all", as the song lyrics go on to say. Why do they risk it all and deeply wound the ones who've been by their side and loved and supported them through thick and thin while they've pursed their careers? Is it just a mere sense of thinking they're invincible, they're so superior that they can do whatever they please, despite any consequences? I'm not in the field of psychotherapy so I'm no expert in being able to figure out what could be going through someones mind at a given time, but it does make one wonder just exactly what these guys may be thinking when they pull these shenanigans?
The majority of these high profile marriages don't survive when the media gets a hold of these unsavory allegations and run with them. It usually ends up that there are more allegations that will follow and the media will dig until they find them. Rehab, counseling or any other therapy sometimes may be just too late by the time the accusations have surfaced and the embarrassment of the whole situation becomes more then one can bear.
A sense of sadness comes over me when I see what many of these women have to endure. In the case of both Denna Favre and Elizabeth Edwards. They already have had their own crosses to bear with the battling of cancer. Life just isn't fair at times it seems, but both of these brave ladies are continuing on with their personal projects. They haven't gone into hiding. Denna Favre is promoting her new book and Elizabeth Edwards continues to write and speak on various issues concerning our nation despite the health issues she is still facing." You go girls", is my personal message to both of them.
If these sexting allegations turn out to be true against Brett Favre(deep down inside I'm hoping their false for his families sake), he will have taken exactly the same road as a number of other famous celebrities and sports figures have and in the end he may find it just wasn't worth the risk to hurt the ones you love.
This could be just one more tale of a fallen hero, someone the younger generation looked up to and respected and are disappointed again. Unfortunately in my opinion, it's one time too many.

Post a CommentGood write-up. This is a prime exmple of what sports 'figures' shouldn't be thought of as heros. They are just human with all the pitfalls that entails.
