As I watch you spread your wings

I felt you kick and squirm your way
Around inside my tummy wide
Sometimes I look at you and cry
One year gone, but not for good
It lives in me as it should

More love than I had known could be
You laugh, you cry, you smile at me
Every move and look you make

I watch you grow, my little boy
Soon enough you'll leave home
All grown up and on your own
