Oh, God, You are, indeed my God;
I honestly search for You!
My soul thirsts for you, Lord;
my entire body longs for you in this wilderness.
I have seen moments of You in Your glory:
times when I just knew it was Your handiwork.
Your unfailing love is better to me than life itself;
how could I not praise You, God?
I will honor You as long as I live, lifting my hands
and prayers to you, as I do each night, God.
You satisfy me more than even chocolate does!
You mean more to me than the most delicious foods.
You know I lie awake at night, thinking of You,
talking to You, singing to You, and I find peace.
I remember, God, how You have helped me:
times when I thought all was lost to me, remember?
I feel the shadow of your protecting wings, and
I remember what Your Word says about You protecting me.
I follow close behind you because Your right arm
holds me when my world is being rocked by circumstances.
I know You will take care of those who have done me wrong,
so I have no problem forgiving them. You are in control!
As long as I trust in You, I will be vindicated
and You will hold me safely in the palm of Your hand.

Thank you, Beth, Tricia, Molly, Joy, Linda and Tony. I always feel humbled and grateful to hear I've written something somebody "needs". Believe it or not, I also needed it today. Something about praising the Lord that lifts us up... "the sacrifice of praise".
Very well done as always, April!
Love this!
Beautiful!!!
Love it, April. Needed it tonight!

Thank you, Artme! Glad you liked it! It's in your Bible, too, you know!
Thank you, all of you, for your comments. Judy, I worried about the "chocolate twist" after the fact -- was it irreligious? But then I remembered God likes me to be real with Him, so I was. That book sounds delightful "Skinny Minny Diet Book" - ha! Writing out the scriptures in your own way is just a wonderful way to meditate on God's Word!
