You don't have to be Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Bill Gates, or etc. to help people. Many rich and famous people have the funds to help people. But you don't need money to help people. If you can afford to, you can still donate to charities or help someone in need financially. Even one dollar makes a difference. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that one dollar is pointless. Every dollar counts!
If you don't have any money to donate, you can donate your time. There are many ways to help people and make a difference in peoples lives. You can volunteer for charities. Often, charities use the assistance of volunteers to get tasks done. Making a difference doesn't start and end with charitable organizations. Everyday, you are encountered with opportunities to help people. This help can be financial. It can be speaking a kind word. It can be lending a helping hand. We often get so caught up in the way of thinking that charity only happens far from home, in other countries, or through charitable organizations. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Although other countries and charitable organizations need assistance, they are not the only ones. Everywhere you look, people are in need of something. Just one little act of kindness can make a big difference in someones life.
When you go about your day, keep an open heart and look at the situations around you. You might see a mother who is too tired to clean her house. Or a child that needs help with their homework. Somebody that needs a jump-start for their car. Somebody that needs a hug. Somebody that needs someone to talk to. An elderly person having a hard time carrying their groceries. Somebody you know might need help finding a job. The list goes on and on. You just have to look for the opportunities to help. If you keep your eyes open, you will find many ways everyday to help people.
The rich and famous may donate a lot of money and have the opportunities to go to other countries and help people. What you do in your everyday can be just as important as what they do. There is no measure of who is a better person when doing charitable work. Mother Teresa made a huge difference in Calcutta using her time. She didn't have any money. There are countless numbers of people who have spent their lives helping people and making a difference without having any money at all.
Tomorrow is a new day. Start it fresh with a new outlook on life. Realize that you have the power to make a difference in the lives of others.

Post a CommentHi Dorrine, if you need someone to talk to, email me at bobbiebenton@gmail.com
Yes this is true,I have helped people all my life.Yes I give what I can in my time and money because yes it make's a differents.I hear people complain when there asked at a store if they would like to give a dollar for what every the cause and the complain. One time the cashier got scared to ask again I could tell,so when I got up to her I said it's okay you can ask me I won't bite your head off.I have even sent card's to rich people who where dieing when the address was made public where to send. But now I need help for some one and I'm lost. All my life I knew how to help people and now I feel like if you don't jump off a bridge or something your stuck. But it will not stop me from giving all I can.So please help when you can and don't take it out on the cashier I know we get asked at every store we go to but if you can keep giving,if you can't just say it nicely.
A great reminder for us all. Often it seems it is the least who give the most of themselves.
"The rich and famous may donate a lot of money and have the opportunities to go to other countries and help people. What you do in your everyday can be just as important as what they do." Well said. We are so consumed with Brangelina's generosity, we often forget all that the "little people" do. Great piece.
