You-You Japanese Bistro is located in Nashua, New Hampshire and is easily accessible to travelers and locals alike. It is just on Broad Street, Exit 6 on the Everett Turnpike. Upon first glance, one would hardly notice the gem that is You-You. However, upon closer inspection and investigation, a treasure is found. As you walk in, the atmosphere strikes you immediately. Both the dining area and the bar area are simply decorated. But don't let the simplicity throw you off; it is, in fact, very elegant in its simplicity. While the lighting is dim, it is not so dark that you cannot see the decorations or the person that you are dining with. Music plays softly in the background, as people chat while sipping martinis, cosmopolitans, wine and Sapporo.
The menu is also astounding. It includes not only sushi and maki dishes, but traditional Japanese and Euro-Asian fusion dishes. The preparation of the food is also mind-blowing. The chefs put a lot of time and effort into the preparation of the food in addition to its arrangements on the plates that come out of the kitchen. The arrangements are often so beautiful, that I feel bad consuming the food placed in front of me. Why should I destroy this masterpiece that an artist took such pains to create for my viewing pleasure?
You-You is perhaps best known for its "beginner" sushi dishes. There are maki rolls with only vegetables. There are also maki rolls that contained well-cooked tempura, covered with spicy sauce, making it easy for the consumer that does not regularly eat sushi to enjoy themselves and the food in front of them. The prices are also very reasonable for the amount of food that one gets.
For those that have taken the plunge and are already sushi addicts, like myself, You-You is a treat. You-You is also a wonderful place for the person that has never tried sushi before or who has had limited experiences with sushi. It also has food for the non-sushi consumer. It has something for everyone and is highly recommended.
You-You Japanese Bistro is located at 150 Broad Street in Nashua, New Hampshire. They can be reached at (603) 882 - 8337 and accept reservations. Reservations are recommended for Thursday - Sunday night dinners, as they tend to get a little crowded. Their entire menu is also available for take-out. You-You does not deliver.
