On August 9, I purchased Wii Fit for the Nintendo Wii. All the reviews I had read prior to my purchase were positive. I had even read of persons losing weight, so long as they continued to play the game. You saw my stats from last week. So far, I am still on the winning side.
Week One: 8/9/09
Starting Weight: 259lbs
Waist: 40"
BMI (Body Mass Index): 36.1
Week Two: 8/16/09
Weight: 253lbs
Waist: 40"
BMI (Body Mass Index): 35.4
Week Three: 8/23/09
Weight: 250.lbs
Waist: 40"
BMI (Body Mass Index): 35.0
I am still losing weight with wiifit, although the numbers are not quite so large as last week. Still, I'm down 9lbs from when I started August 9th. This last measurement looks to be more in line with a consistent weight loss program, about 1.5lbs/week. I am still exercising and measuring at the same time of day, every day, to ensure consistent results.
I'm exercising between 30 and 40 minutes daily. My diet is now changing, especially regarding the timing of my eating and strictly limiting what I consume after 7pm. That doesn't mean I don't get a small snack before bed, but now that snack is smaller and usually sugar free. There is still no depriving myself of any particular food groups (i.e. carbs, sugars, fats, etc.). Portion size and content of the meals themselves are the key elements for me.
Wii Fit is still holding my interest. I have unlocked almost every exercise game. New variations to the already unlocked games are still popping up from time to time. The longer exercise times for the wiifit activites have allowed me to be more efficient with my program. I also have pretty much eliminated the Yoga and Balance games from my routine. Almost all my time is spent doing the Aerobic or Strength activities.
My children are still enjoying the Wii Fit game themselves, although I continue to remind them that their bodies are growing and not to worry about "losing weight" but instead look for increasing muscle and their own personal activity level.
That ends my weekly summary of my experience with Wii Fit and balance board. I am still losing weight, and I hope that I continue to do so. You, my loyal reading audience may continue to watch my progress or decline right here. Thanks for reading.
