Now that I've gotten that out of the way, let us go straight for the jugular, CNN's recent report on the now infamous Bobby Cutts, Jr. The Ohio cop is accused of killing his girlfriend and their 2nd (though unborn) child, a daughter to be named Chloe.
CNN had it wrong, however, by referring to baby Chloe twice as a "fetus". She was due to come into the world in a week or so prior to her death. Specifically, baby Chloe would have been born on July 3rd.
Cutts is apparently facing hurdles with regards to making his $5 million bond as he remains in custody. It also seems there is a difference in opinion with regard to Mr./Officer Cutts' character. It all depends on whom you talk to.
Now follow along closely kids:
According to Nikki Giavasis, an alleged former girlfriend currently living in Los Angeles County, Jeffrey Jakmides, her Ohio-based attorney, Dr. J. H. Carter-Lourensz, a "child psychology professor and independent child abuse evaluator", and an unnamed Superior Court Judge, Bobby Cutts is a very bad man.
The judge suspended Cutts' visitation rights and all other contact with Cutts' and Giavasis' 9-year-old daughter based on Carter-Lourensz's report that the child had been "abused emotionally and physically". The report stated the 9-year-old girl felt "sexually unsafe and threatened verbally, emotionally, and physically by Mr. Cutts."
Now I don't know how this "evaluator" ascertained all of these specifics regarding how a 9-year-old feels sexually, but a part of me doubts that she would communicate that she felt "sexually unsafe" around her father to a stranger. But I digress.
According to the same report, Bobby Lee allegedly physically abused the son of the same former girlfriend (by another man) when he was only 5.
But if you ask Cutts' stepmother, Barbara Cutts (with whom he is not far apart in age, he 30, she 46), Bobby Lee is "good with kids." Bobby Cutts is a good person.
The definition of good has really changed since I've been out of school. I guess its one of those terms like "gay" that just don't mean what they used to when Webster first recorded it and wrote it down.
Bobby Lee has another daughter, his 2nd, with his current wife of 6 years. His first son, 2 years old, was with his girlfriend Jessie Davis, the woman whose murder he's accused of (the same Jessie Davis whose body he led police to in an open field). His 3rd daughter, Chloe, also with Jessie Davis, never made it home from the hospital.
Does the fact that Bobby Cutts has children support Mrs. Cutts claim that he is "good with kids" or does his unconventional relationship patterns and child abuse claims support the grand jury's indictment of murder?
It's hard to say. Or is it? We won't relive what we did in the Duke Lacrosse case. We will wait for the trial.
