You Must Climb Every Hill to Reach the Top of the Mountain

Just Do Not Forget About Your Traveling Partner

Everyone has heard the expression "You can't see the forest for the trees." Yes, it is completely true. What does that mean? Well, simply put...you cannot see the flowers and other foliage and animals in the forest for all of the large trees. You have to really look and take notice. You cannot put all of your focus on the trees to be able to see all of the other beauty a forest has to offer.

Now, the expression you may not be as familiar with is "You will never see the top of the mountain until you have climbed each hill." You have not heard it because it is original.

This expression has a little more in-depth meaning. It is obvious that literally it would mean that if you do not climb the hills, you will never reach the top of the mountain.

Spiritually, it means that before you can see the beauty of any situation, you must go through trials and tribulations. You must suffer to get rewarded. You must go through many storms to see a rainbow.

Climbing hills can be rough and tough. Yet, you must be rougher and tougher. The only way to do that, you absolutely positively 100% must trust Jesus Christ. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it. You must trust Jesus Christ.

There are going to be times that you get so weary you feel like the end is near. Your feet and legs (or your spirit) will get so tired you know for sure you cannot go on. You find yourself in need of food and shelter and a very long rest, but you must get to the top. That is when you let Jesus carry you for a while. He is right there with you every step you make whether you realize it or not. To be completely honest, he has taken every single step you are taking even before you were born.

Jesus knows the road you are traveling from first hand experience. He was tempted by Satan, made fun of by so-called friends, spit on by enemies, betrayed by his most trusted disciples, and then hung up to die for you and me. So you see, climbing a little bitty hill is absolutely nothing compared to the life Jesus Christ had to live before he died.

Yet, we huff and puff and curse and scream when we have to cross a tiny little stream or climb over a few rocks or boo hoo if we get a little bitty blister on our foot. Oh boo hoo. Try being hung on a cross with nails in your hands and feet and have a sword pierce your side, then boo hoo over a blister.

You see, we all must climb a hill ever day. Some will be steeper than others. Some of them you are sure are going to "do you in".

The next time you find yourself on one of those hills, turn to your climbing Partner and ask him to carry you for a while. Let him take some of the load you are bearing. Lean on his strong arms and let him take control and guide for a while.

When you finally reach the top of that mountain, the view will be ever so spectacular and breathtaking. Good luck on your journey. Just do not ever forget about your Journey Partner!

My traveling partner has had to give me a leg up on several occasions.
