You Are Not Alone

Mandy Kaye
An old man dines alone
Trying to remember the taste
of a hot meal, his wife's face

A child's cries are ignored
Molding a future undeserved
They never took the time

A prayer goes unanswered
And faith fades into oblivion
Another soul is lost

A woman dies alone
With nothing left to live for
Nobody ever really cared

A child plays in solitude
They all thought that he was weird
Scars and hearts never really heal

Whispered words "I love you"
Fall on deaf ears
Next time, don't wait

A single tears glistens but disappears before it is discovered
She shows the world a forced smile
And they leave her alone

And she is so alone

wow. Heavy stuff. Most assuredly gets the emotion across.

Don't know if you're spiritual at all - I can't call myself Christian 'cause, for the most part, I wouldn't want to be associated with that bunch - but remember, Even in your darkest moment (and having been there, I can attest to this truth - God never leaves you alone.
