One of the most common worries amongst women is all centered around one question. Could I be pregnant? Lets take a look at some of the most common pregnancy symptoms, how to treat them and what this means for you.
Before I begin, please remember that your health is most important, and while I offer information regarding common pregnancy symptoms, it is always best to check with your physician regarding what you're experiencing. Symptoms are just that, symptoms. They could be signs of many different things, including serious illnesses.
First, lets begin with what appears to be the most common signs of pregnancy.
The first symptom we will explore is lack of menstruation. Although most would accept lack of menstruation as a positive sign of pregnancy, the truth is that a missed period could mean many other things. The best way to confirm that your missed period can be due to pregnancy is by confirming this with a pregnancy test done at your local doctors office.
Secondly, we explore the dangerous territory of an all familiar word spoken by pregnant women across the world, which is nausea. Nausea can be the most frustrating symptom of all, even interrupting daily life. Thankfully, there are many little things that can be done to reduce the problem. For example, eating saltines upon waking up in the morning, avoiding strong smells and spices, eating in small portions and often, or even something as simple as getting some fresh air.
Another very common symptom can also be confused for the very similar feeling associated with your menstrual period. Breast tenderness. Your breasts begin to feel heavier, and tender to the touch. This can be very uncomfortable, but with a few steps, you may be able to ease the pain. Try wearing a comfortable fitting bra made out of cotton. The right type of support can make the world of differences. It may not make the pain go completely away, but even an ounce of relief is worth a pound.
So, we've explored a few typical symptoms of pregnancy, but lets explore one that isn't talked about as often. While preparing for a fresh day, many women wake up in the morning, shower and brush their teeth. To their surprise, they notice that their gums are bleeding. This can easily be overlooked. Some claim this is due to an increased amount of blood flow which allows them to become inflamed and irritated easily. The best thing you can do is brush regularly, and possibly purchase a softer toothbrush at your local grocery store. Always remember, regular visits to your dentist during pregnancy is very important. Your dentist will be able to confirm whether or not this is pregnancy related or something more serious.
Other symptoms include fatigue, frequent urination, headaches, and implantation bleeding. The most accurate symptom is a positive pregnancy test and confirmation with your doctor. Always remember, every woman is different and will experience a variety of symptoms throughout pregnancy. No matter how sick you are, there is always one thing to remember. In the end, when you look down at the life you've created, you won't regret these miniature battles you conquered each day for nine months. It was all worth it, and it was a small price to pay for such a beautiful gift.
