You Can Sell Pink Tasers to Your Friends at a Home Party
Women Across America Can Now Sign Up to Host Their Own Taser Parties for Self-defense
For self protection some women learn a self defense art, others carry pepper spray, mace or other offensive spray, and jeweled concealed daggers have been a fashionable accessory for some women. Since TASER electronic defense devices have been made available to consumers, stylish models in pink and other colors have been for sale on the internet at sites like Women on Guard. Now, you can host a home Pink TASER party, thanks to a new Internet-based company, Shieldher, Inc.
According to Google's historical website information, www.shieldher.com, a site that has been under development recently and is based in Arizona, has just added a page of information for women who would like to make a little money on the side. You can host home parties, invite your friends, and have a little fun. You can make serious money, too, and even try out the product, though that part wasn't explained on the website. At around $400 apiece, you might think it's a luxury. For many women, unfortunately, it might not be.
From Tupperware parties for "pin money" to Mary Kay, then sex toy parties and other unusual products, party-based sales have been popular for a long time. Now it's pink TASERs. There's silver, too, and a few other colors, both fashionable and quite functional, a perfect product for home sales perhaps, since buying one online is a tacit acknowledgement of the dangers a woman faces in life, and having support might be a good idea. With a ten-year shelf life and enough kick to make things perfectly clear, in 43 of the United States they are a legal means of self-protection.
The model C2, a consumer model with a feature which litters the area with serial-numbered confetti to discourage casual use, is being offered by women's self defense sites such as Women on Guard, and also the TASER Parties site www.shieldher.com, where a user who submits a police report of the event can receive a free replacement because, as the site notes, "your life is worth more to us than the cost of a TASER C2!" This replacement concept is not new: the fashionable $35 "pendant dagger" offered by badgerblades.com has the same offer for their decorative necklace sporting a hidden but easily accessible blade.
The manufacturer, TASER International, which says that the TASER was invented as a response to a fatal road rage incident involving friends of the founders, has found diverse markets for their technology, from specialized TASER shells fired from a shotgun to police models such as those used in infamous incidents at UCLA and a John Kerry speech in Florida, but classification as a firearm in many states made access by average citizens somewhat difficult.
By addressing concerns which made them comparable to a gun in the minds of some, and adding the identification-confetti feature, the consumer model was made available through less restrictive channels, though still not in some states. The website indicates that they do perform a background check on purchasers and release an activation code to the consumer once the check is successfully passed.
Gun advocates provide a bit of wisdom that is helpful should consumers choose to carry a TASER for defense - it can give you false confidence and lead to a worse outcome, so the best defense is still to avoid potentially dangerous situations. TASER parties can ensure that those who chose to own one will be well informed about its use.

Post a CommentI have always carried mace or pepper spray. I don't like the idea of tasers since they don't really incapacitate that well. I've seen huge guys completely ignore them. At least if they are blind, they can't chase me.
