You Can Snack on Breyers Vanilla Bean Low Fat Ice Cream and Be Happy

You No Longer Have to Sit in Envy as Your Friend Eats Ice Cream

Richard McDuff
Why give up on ice cream when you are on a diet? You do not have to quit one of your favorite happy foods. Eating Breyers low fat ice cream in moderation, is the key.I would suggest that you eat 1/2 cup of low fat ice cream and load the rest of the dish with fruit. Breyers, for example makes an excellent low fat Vanilla Bean ice cream with 110 calories per 1/2 cup, and if you load it up with some luscious, exotic fruit you will have an excellent dessert, with all natural fruit sugars. A half of a cup of ice cream is not a lot of ice cream, and you probably will be wanting more, but if you fill the bowl with fresh fruit, this can make a wonderful dessert and your ice cream will be healthy.

There are probably some of you are saying, "What about a Chocolate Syrup?" There are some excellent sugarless chocolate syrups that diabetics use if you want chocolate syrup for your ice cream. I am definitely not a chocaholic, so this is not a problem for me.

David Vanata of Ashland University, of Ashland, Ohio did a study with 240 students and had a list of 62 foods. Near the top of the student's list was ice cream as one happy foods. They associated ice cream with happiness, which we know does wonders for our well being. So, why deprive yourself of one of your luxury foods. If you eat ice cream in moderation, you will not feel guilty and you can truly enjoy one of life's pleasure.

Breyers Vanilla Bean Low Fat Ice Cream is actually better than I thought. We all believe that low fat ice cream lacks the flavor of the cream laden ice cream. If I was given a taste test, I would have never known that it was low fat ice cream. I actually found it to full of flavor.

I prefer Vanilla ice cream, because I mix my ice cream with fruit. I will mix the fruit and the ice cream together in a food mixer, because I prefer the flavor of natural fruit sugars rather than the over-saturated artificial fruit flavor so prevalant in flavored ice cream.

Another test for this ice cream was making a milk shake. I added the one cup of 1% milk (110 calories), 1/2 cup of fruit and one cup of ice cream (220 calories) and made enough for two milk shakes (each shake was 165 calories). I gave one shake to my autistic step-son and I drank the other milk shake. It was pretty good. My step-son wanted another one.

I would give the Breyers Vanilla Bean Low Fat ice cream a score of 8 of 10, the score dropped slightly because of the texture of the shake. It is an excellent substitute for the regular ice cream with half of the fat.
