You Can Survive a Bad Economy Without Feeling Poor

The news is filled with how bad our economy and financial times currently are, and how hard it is for everyone. You don't have to feel like a poor person in order to survive it though, all you need to do is start managing your money better. Just by being careful with how you manage your money, you can actually live very comfortably no matter how bad the economy gets. And when you do this really well, you can even start saving some money for other emergencies. In order to survive this bad economy though, you're going to need to be frugal as well as financially savvy, and creative too.

Here are some ways you might be able to do that:

1. Stop paying others for things you can do yourself. If you currently pay someone to do simple things such as the laundry, cleaning, and yard work, then it's time to start doing these chores yourself. By taking over these tasks, you'll be able to save more money and this is very important to do when the economy is very bad. Keep in mind that anyone who is willing and able to work very hard will survive and sometimes even thrive regardless of how difficult the economy becomes.

2. Stop buying things you don't need. The simple act of not spending money on things you do not need will make a very large difference in helping your family survive in difficult financial times. You don't have to starve, or make your family homeless, all you need to do is stop spending money on extras. Force yourself to only spend money on the absolute necessities of life, which are the things you actually need to survive.

Cutting out your extra spending might make you feel as if you're poor, but there are actually many ways you can simply change the way you do things and still save money to. If you normally go out to eat with your family on the weekends for example, try setting up a new routine which involves having a barbecue in the backyard instead.

If you normally go to movies for your entertainment, you'll save much more money by simply renting the movies to watch at home instead. You can even watch many movies on TV.

3. Pool your resources with others. You're not the only one feeling the pain of the current economical crunch. Everyone around you is having financial problems to. If you simply pool your resources with friends, family, or neighbors you'll all be able to save more money. Try carpooling to work for example, or to the same general location. You can carpool with people who don't work in the same place you do. If you work near by other people, you can all carpool to the same general area and then walk a short remaining distance to your job.
