Young Artists Growing Older: The Careers of Bow Wow and Omarion

They aren't little boys anymore. Both Bow Wow and Omarion have grown up in the music industry. They started at very young age and now can be considered grown men. With the release of their new album "Face Off" it is a great time to look at the careers that have brought these two talents together at this point in their careers. Here is a look at both Bow Wow and Omarion.

Shad Gregory Moss, better known as Bow Wow was born March 9, 1987. It took him only 5 years to get started in the music industry. At age five he appeared on tour with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre as part of the Chronic tour. After making appearances on Deathrow albums such as Snoop Dogg's Doggstyle, Bow Wow gained attention from super producer Jermaine Dupri. Dupri would choose to take the Lil Bow Wow, under his wing.

At the young age of 13 Lil Bow Wow released his first album "Beware of the Dog." The album was a huge success and included appearances from the likes of Snopp Dogg, Jagged Edge, Xscape and Jermaine Durpi. The big singles on the album included "Bounce with Me," and "Bow Wow (That's my Name). The album but Bow Wow on the hip hop map. It would go on to sell over three million albums.

Bow Wow has released three other albums all which have gained platinum status. Both "Wanted" and "Doggy Bag" gained double platinum status. His last effort, "The Price of Fame" sold just over a million albums. Bow Wow has also gotten into the movie game. He has appeared in both "Roll Bounce" and "The Fast and Furious:Tokio Drift." He has appeared in a number of sitcoms as well making him a well rounded entertainer.

Omari Ishmael Grandberry, better know as Omarion was November 12, 1984. Omarion got his start in the music industry as the lead singer of the boy band B2K. The group is best known for their hit single "Bump, Bump, Bump." After three successful albums the group parted ways leaving the door open for an Omarion solo career.

Omarion's debut solo album "O" debuted at number 1 on the billboard charts. The success of his single "O" made him a household name. He would later collaborate with Bow Wow on the single "Let Me Hold You Down, " which reached #4 on the billboard charts. With his second album "21" Omarion gained his greatest success yet, mostly because of the single "Ice Box" which reached #12 on the charts.

These two performers with their unique styles and personalities have now teamed up to make an album together. "Face Off" set for release December 11th will see these young stars of R&B and Hip Hop come together to make music. Based on their past, this album is sure to bring even more success.
