Young Entrepreneurs in Mindanao Holds Global PPP Forum
IInvestforum on Global Public Private Partnership Advancing Literacy and Health Care in the Philippines
On April 5, 2011, their founded forum called iInvestforum.com will address one of the most pressing issues of poor literacy rate in the country especially in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao which according to the Library Renewal Partnership (LRP) is 10% to 53%.In the Philippines, out of 10 elementary graduates, one 1 would have the chance to go to college. This is a poor condition of our people and for us who were privileged enough to land into better education, we owe it to those who don't have it, says iInvestforum.com founder Aleem Guiapal.
This is the reason why we convene the Global Forum on Public Private Partnership Advancing Literacy and Health Care in the Philippines. We are privilege to have network with institutions such as the Center for Development Management of the Asian Institute of Management , the LRP founded by Quintin Pastrana, Operation Smile headed by Dr. Laurence Loh and Knightsbridge International Chairman Philanthropist Sir Edward Artis. LRP has started putting up 15 libraries in Aklan and still counting. We wanted to duplicate this in the ARMM. Operation Smile' presence on the other hand has long been felt in Mindanao. DSWD-ARMM through Acting Secretary Pombaen Kader has recently reported 73 cases of cleft palate and harelip client. We believe there are more numbers but Op Smile will start to held and send volunteers doctors in Mindanao with the documented cases. Both initiatives were supported by Knightsbridge International.
The forum which will be held at the Asian Institute of Management will also highlight strategies, techniques and best practices in fund raising and resource mobilization . The forum features Knightsbridge International whose current relief mission in 2010 in the Philippines has accounted for 7.5USD Million.
The model used by LRP is to raise awareness, funding and resource by tapping both Public and Private organizations to work as a team in addressing development interventions such as that of LRP and Op Smile. For inquiries about the forum, you may log in to www.iinvestforum.com .
