Young Justice Cartoon to Premiere on Cartoon Network

Young Justice is a new animated series, based on the DC-comics work of the same name. The show, which features a group of teenage superheroes, is aimed at teens and adolescents. While sharing a similar description as CN's adaptation of Teen Titans, the series is expected to focus on notable sidekicks rather than standalone superheroes. Young Justice's main members are Superboy, Robin (who was in the Teen Titans series), Aqualad, Kid Flash, Artemis, and Miss Martian. Other young super sidekicks are expected to make an appearance in the series as well. The group will be mentored by key Justice League members such as Superman, Batman, and Aquaman.

Each of the main Young Justice members possesses a unique power or ability. Aqualad can manipulate water and turn it into different shapes. Superboy has an ability called tactile telekinesis that temporarily grants him powers like super strength and psychic energy. Robin doesn't have any super power, but is highly skilled in combat (in addition to being a terrific strategist.) Kid Flash can travel in super speed. Artemis is a champion archeress, whose skills measure up to those of the Green Arrow. Miss Martian possesses a variety of powers including shapeshifting, flight, telepathy, and invisibility.

It should be noted that abovementioned are the default abilities (from the comics) of the Young Justice heroes. The animated series may choose not to portray them. The show's villains will be drawn from the DC-comics pool of antagonists. Young Justice is scheduled to premiere November 26, 2010 at 7 PM EST on Cartoon Network (CN). This is a one-hour premiere. According Titans Tower, the series will officially debut in January 2011.
