"Young and the Restless": A New Birth is About to Arrive

As everyone in Genoa City gets out their party hats to ring in the New Year, there seems to be a midst of excitement in the air. While the year isn't quite finished just yet-there are a few things lurking in the background-just waiting to happen....

While Jana is visiting Daisy, she begins to go into labor. Daisy refuses to go to the hospital, because she doesn't want to go back to jail. After Daniel introduces to Daisy the officer who will be taking Daisy in, she realizes that Daniel doesn't want to stick around and play house. Jana still believes that Daisy will give her the baby after changing her statement to the police. Jana hopes that once she has the baby, that her and Kevin will reconcile and become a couple again. Only Daisy has other plans after her baby is born. As usual, Daisy has played master manipulator.

After Daisy goes into labor, Jana calls Daniel to tell him of the news. Daniel is with Abby celebrating the new year and they plan to be a couple again. Daniel was just speaking of getting his life back on track and was feeling somewhat relieved with the thought of Daisy heading back to jail very soon. After receiving the call, Daniel tells Jana to take Daisy to the hospital and he will meet them there. Abby agrees to come along to support Daniel. As Jack and Phyllis are preparing to leave for New York to head to Times Square, they also receive a call about the pending arrival of Daisy's baby. They also go to the hospital. Once everybody is at the hospital though, they realize Daisy still isn't there... Daniel announces that "Something isn't right here." Where is Daisy?

Back at Daniel's apartment, Daisy is still fighting with Jana about going to the hospital. Jana finally convinces Daisy to go, and they begin to head to the hospital. On the way there, Jana tells Daisy that they must stop by Jimmy's to tell Kevin of the news. Daisy refuses to tell Kevin, but Jana insists. Daisy tells her there's no way those two are getting her baby. After pulling up to Jimmy's, Jana witnesses both Kevin and Chloe in a passionate embrace. Jana grows very angry and hurt. Her wish of becoming a family with Kevin slowly diminishes. While in an angry rage, Jana tells Daisy to go ahead and run-she didn't care anymore about Kevin or the baby. Jana lets Daisy drive away as she stands and watches Chloe and Kevin kissing.

As the New Year begins to ring in, both Chloe and Kevin finally realize their love for one another. While sulking in her pjs and a container of ice cream, Chloe begins to reminisce of her memories of her and Kevin's time together as roommates. She realizes that she does have feelings for him after-all and leaves in a middle of a conversation with her mother-pjs and all. Back at Jimmy's, Kevin is sulking about Chloe with his New Year's date. His date has already realized that he is in love with Chloe and actually helps Kevin realize it. As Kevin begins to leave Jimmy's, he runs into Chloe out on the street, as she too was heading to Jimmy's. They both express their love for one another and embrace into a passionate kiss as everyone in the background is counting down to the New Year.
