Younger Men Are Hooking Up with Older Women

Harold Dean Sink
Older women are dating younger men more and more these days. Their friends may think it is odd or could be all for it. These younger men are also finding out that there are older women who are unattached and my not have any children. The most common scenario in this dating class would be where both individuals are seeking companionship without a commitment.

Older women have dated younger men for centuries. It was not until this past century near the end that this practice became more prevalent. Many of these younger men are still searching for their lot in life and are not ready to commit to a lasting relationship. Therefore they go to clubs, parks and other places where they find these "cougars."

A cougar is a term used for older women who date younger men. They may be set in their careers and are around the age of thirty to thirty-five. These women are not seeking an older man because in most cases they are set in their ways and expect the woman to change for them. Many of these cougars are independent women who have established themselves in a career. They also tend to be the controller in the relationship.

This is not to say that this is a bad situation. These younger men are appreciative that they are learning from their older counterparts. None of us know everything, but it does not hurt to have someone teach you the ropes so to speak. A young man who knows he has a good catch will take the relationship to the next level. This makes quite an impression on the woman who sees his potential.

Men, take a look around at the women around you. Can you really guess how old they are? You may be overly surprised at how many of those women look years younger than you would expect. These women are looking for someone who is more grounded than other men.

A man who is living alone rather than with roommates or still with his parent(s) is more likely to catch one of these cougars. Being able to show solid proof that you have prepared for financial setbacks is an endearing key for these cougars. This does not mean you have to dress in high dollar suits and drive the latest sports car, but a financial portfolio, will and life insurance are serious steps to catching her attention.

When meeting these cougars, the less bolder men may want to borrow a dog or relative's child for the day. Better the dog than the child. This 'hook' will reel in an older woman in showing that you desire companionship. Women pick up on little things like this more than men do, so having pickup lines will not be an issue. Be on your guard as to what you say at first. That first impression may be your last.

Women seeking younger men may not always dress to attract one. They may or may not play games to see how much a man will try to get their attention. Although, many cougars are less likely to do this as they are pretty much just wanting some attention. There are older women who do have the same sex drive as younger men, they just may not be as eager to share that information right away.

Younger men will need to be a little more savvy to connect with an older woman, and keep up on world events. This isn't too hard these days with the internet being as accessible as it is. You can go the route of using those internet dating sites, but with a little work and know how that is completely unnecessary.

Where did you pull this from? Do you have any data that backs this up? Seems like you just made this up, I don't think this is necessarily true.

Also, cougars are 40+, I think you need to do more research next time.

I laughed heartily at your article. I just hooked up with a woman who is 35 (I'm 23) and it is exactly like this. Good stuff.

I find your articles interesting. Oh and BTW...a cougar is a woman from around 35 to 55...a puma is one around 30 - 34 or so. ;) I wish I didn't know this. LOL. good stuff.
