Your Annual September 11th Reminder

This year it was MLA formatting that reminded me that another September 11^th is here. I was typing in the due date for a paper, and when I looked to see what tomorrow's date was I noticed that it was 9/11-the 7^th Anniversary of a day, which altered the balance of the world for the foreseeable future. And strangely enough, that's not what I came here to write about, but how could one ignore such a thing? For the past seven years, a week hasn't gone by where I have not been reminded of that tragic day. Sure, we are hearing about it less and less, but every time a politician needs to justify delusional thought we are reminded of the day we are told to "Never Forget". But we will one day; when something worse happens or when the current generations die off. Don't worry we won't forget entirely, it will be in the history books and classes. Kids will learn to empathize with humans from the past. So the cycle goes (or repeats).

Even the numbers, when paired together, no longer look the same. The once meaningless symbol of eleven now casts a striking resemblance to the twin towers whenever I see it. Ah, so this is what terrorism is: distraction. As soon as I realized the date, the terrorists won. My focus was stripped and violated by the diabolical acts of September 11^th. No more! I will no longer let these mangy choads steal my attention. Fuck them with 72 clap-infected virgins. The immaculate contraction will torture their genitals for eternity. Yes, that is justice for making me write 276 words of pure, unadulterated jibber jabber.

I have a paper to write and if I allow al Qaeda and Bin Laden to hamper my education then that is worse than giving forty bones to a red-eyed kid in a ragged tie-die Dead shirt-money that supposedly supports terrorism. I doubt that. I'm pretty sure it supports Ben & Jerry's and Doritos, two fine American products. Go 'Merica.
