Your Easter present I made
With new oil paints
I made Jesus as the sun
And the Devil as the dark cloud
The dark cloud always hovers
Skulking around like an empty skull
Yet, Jesus is always beneath us
Giving us warm, loving comfort
From His light
With new oil paints
I made Jesus as the sun

It took me most of the night to paint
And it is not really very good
Just a few abstract strokes that would
Never be shown in a gallery
My point is is that it is a present from
Me to you about all the good things that
God can and will do for you just know
That old Devil hovers and skulks
Yet, Jesus is always there to help us
Wipe the smirk off that old Devil's face
