Your Favorite Celebrities Share Their Favorite Christmas Memories

Do you remember being a child and going to grandma and grandpa's house for Christmas? Remember that one gift that you just could not wait to open? Memories of Christmas past have undoubtedly etched a special place in our hearts. Perhaps Bing Crosby said it best, when he said "Unless we make Christmas an occasion to share our blessings, all the snow in Alaska won't make it 'white'." In a 2004 interview that Oprah Winfrey gave to News Week,Oprah credits her favorite Christmas memory for inspiring her generosity. Oprah said "I will never forget when I was about 12, and my mother told my siblings and me that we would not be receiving Christmas gifts because there wasn't enough money. I remember at the time that I felt sad and thought: "What would I say when the other kids asked what I had gotten?" Just when I started to accept that there would not be a Christmas that year, three nuns showed up at our house with gifts for us. There was a turkey, a fruit basket, and some games, and for me, there was a doll."

Unlike Oprah, rapper Bow Wow had many gifts under the tree! In fact, he admitted in an online AOL interview, that he could not wait to see what St. Nick brought. In his interview, Bow Wow discussed how his snooping got him in trouble. He recalled," I would always ask my mom about what gifts she got for me, and she'd be like, 'Stop asking, I didn't get you what you asked for.' So I would sneak under the tree and unwrap my gifts and check them out, then turn them around to the other side, and put another present closer to hide that I opened it. Well, mom got smart and started buying these big ass boxes, and it turns out there would only be a pair of sneakers in it. But she'd have the shoes in something the size of a TV box, just to throw me off, and to keep me from opening the gifts early."

Like Bow Wow, Mathew Brodrick was a bit nosey himself! In a recent interview by Movie Web, Brodrick talks about his Christmas Memories. Brodrick said, "I have various snowy memories, I remember clearly getting a wonderful red bike and I remember a train set that my father set up the night before Christmas not knowing that I had secretly seen him doing it. So that was my first major acting role - having to open the box in the morning and act surprised and say "Oh my God, a train. It was funny. He didn't catch on."

In a BBC interview Halle Berry, talked about her Christmas disappointment. Halle said, "The day I saw my mom eating the Santa cookies on the plate was one of the most horrific days of my life. I never let her forget it. I had at least three more good years that I could have believed had she not been so careless."

Finally, bad boy Samuel Jackson adds a new perceptive to holiday cheer. Also, in a BBC interview Jackson recalls, "Christmas wasn't Christmas unless I got some guns. You would go to the movies and watch violent movies, you played violent games - we played cowboys and Indians, we played war, we played cops and robbers." No wonder Jackson plays such a good bad guy!
