1. Laugh at them. Seriously, this makes encountering them almost enjoyable. It gives you funny stories to tell and laughing has been proven to increase your health. Think of all the jokes that are based on idiotic people. Be cautious about laughing in their faces though. This can be a bad idea if the complete idiot is your boss or if you care about hurting people's feelings.
2. Be a little more patient. This is easier for some of us than for others, but it'll make you feel good if you don't blow up and yell at the person making your day more difficult. Patience can also make things go a little faster. Have you ever gotten into an argument with someone about some idiotic thing they've done? Chances are that argument ended up taking up a lot more of your time than being patient with them would have.
3. If you can't stand being patient with them, get away from them. Seriously, you don't always have to deal with people. Sometimes it's pointless to try to get them to see things logically. In that case just try your best to remove yourself from the situation entirely.
And finally: 4. Help them out. Now seriously, most idiots will refuse your help because they have no idea how idiotic they are. But for the few that will accept your help, imagine what you'll be doing for them. You will be showing them the correct way to say . . . speak to people without offending them. Help like that could improve their entire lives. They might meet more intelligent people who can finally stand to be around them. So, when you meet a complete idiot, do a good deed! Do it for all of us.
